Privacy Policy
Effective October 15, 2026
Kage is made by Breeze Labs. Kage keeps your data on your device. We do not run a server that gets your chats. We do not show ads. We do not track you.
What stays on your device
Your chats, memories, persona, skills, routines, fridge items, photo edits and settings stay in the app on your device. API keys and sign-in tokens stay in the iOS Keychain.
iCloud
If you turn on iCloud sync, Kage keeps a copy of your data in your private iCloud Drive. Apple stores it under the Apple privacy policy. We cannot read it.
Backups
A backup file goes only where you save it. You can lock it with a password.
How Kage uses AI
- Apple Intelligence on device. Your request stays on your device.
- Private Cloud Compute. When you use it, Apple processes your request on Apple servers that do not keep your data.
- Other models. Kage uses a third-party AI service only when you pick one. See the next part.
Third-party AI services
You can choose a model that runs on another service: OpenRouter (when you sign in with OpenRouter), or a service or server that you add with your own key. Apple Intelligence never sends your data to these services.
- Who gets the data. The service that you pick (for example, OpenRouter at openrouter.ai), and the company that makes the model that you pick through it (for example, Anthropic, OpenAI or Google). Kage shows these names before it sends anything.
- What Kage sends. Your messages in that chat, the photos and files that you add, and, when they help the answer, facts from your Memory and the results of tools that you allow (for example, calendar events, contacts, your location or Apple Health data).
- How Kage gets it. You type or say it, you attach it, or a tool reads it from your device with the permission that you gave in iOS.
- What it is used for. Only to write the answer to your request. We do not get this data.
- Your permission. Before the first request to a service, Kage shows what it sends and who gets it, and asks you to allow it. Nothing goes out before you allow it. Kage also asks you each time before it sends Apple Health data. You can go back to Apple Intelligence at any time in Settings > Model.
- Protection. We offer only services whose own policies give your data the same or equal protection as this policy. Each service handles the data under its own privacy policy.
Permissions
Kage asks for access to things like Calendar, Reminders, Contacts, Health, Location, Photos, the microphone, speech recognition, notifications and Home. Kage uses each one only to do what you ask. You can change access in iOS Settings at any time.
Health data
Kage works with Apple Health (HealthKit). With your permission, it reads data such as steps, sleep, heart rate, workouts and nutrition to answer you, and it saves entries that you confirm, such as water, weight, workouts, mood and meals. Kage does not use Health data for ads. Kage does not sell it. Kage does not send it to us. Kage sends Health data to a third-party AI service only after you allow it each time.
Web pages and servers
When Kage opens a web page or uses a server that you add (for example, an MCP server), the request goes to that site or server.
The Kage keyboard
The keyboard works on your device. It does not send what you type to us. With Full Access, it can use Apple Intelligence on your device.
Data we collect
None in the normal use of the app. If you send us feedback by email, we get your email address, your message and a diagnostic report. The report lists app events only, such as errors and how long a step took. It has no chats, names or other personal data. We use these only to reply to you and to fix problems.
Children
Kage is not for children under 13.
Your choices
You can delete chats and memories in the app. When you delete the app, its data on your device goes away. You can remove the iCloud copy in iOS Settings > Apple Account > iCloud.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
